The course takes place in a blended format to offer the learner the most profitable educational experience, first in an asynchronous virtual classroom to approach the concepts of prosectorial anatomy, and then in a physical classroom organized by PhisioVit for anatomical dissection and direct palpation of landmarks and structures. The event has limited seating and can host a maximum of forty participants. The teaching is offered in the following ways:
STEP 1: it begins with an introductory asynchronous distance learning (FAD) course on the Biomechanics of the Hip Joint, which contains handouts and video lessons. This initial training is useful for familiarizing the learner with Prof. Dr. Ferdinando Paternostro and is essential for introducing them to the topic. It remains available to them within their control panel on the learning platform and is accessible from any device. It can be started, resumed, and interrupted whenever and as many times as desired, but must in any case be completed before STEP 2 illustrated below.
STEP 2: It concludes with an in-person day for the cadaver study of the planes and anatomical structures of the Lower Limb and Pelvic Girdle on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with seven and a half actual hours of classroom training excluding lunch and coffee breaks.
Program
The entire blended event, entitled Lower Limb and Pelvic Girdle: Anatomical Dissection and with an in-person day on Sunday, October 11, 2026, is taught by Prof. Dr. Ferdinando Paternostro, surgeon, Associate Professor of Human Anatomy, Managing Editor of the Italian Journal of Anatomy and Embryology. Formerly a researcher and Adjunct Professor of Human Anatomy in the Degree Courses in Medicine and Surgery, Physiotherapy, Biotechnology, Nursing, and TSRM (Medical Radiology Technicians). In particular, the schedule for the in-person day is indicated below. The teaching staff is completed by the tutoring assistance provided to learners at the dissection tables by the staff of Prof. Dr. Ferdinando Paternostro from the University of Florence, in a ratio of one per ten learners starting from the eleventh participant.
Each practical session will be preceded by brief theoretical sessions that provide an introduction to the practical exercise.
